The Bollox 03-21-09 : The Bollox started in the Fall of 2007. Founded by Jason DeVore and Keith Walker, the two friends came together with a vision of playing music that spoke from the heart, got the blood boiling and kept good times rolling. Both had the love for Irish/Folk Celtic music, and with Walker being a native of Dublin, Ireland and DeVore's passion for Irish Pub music as well, there seemed to be only one thing to do...start writing tunes about just that. Starting out with nothing more than a couple acoustic guitars and an 8 pack of Murphy's, DeVore and Walker began to jam. Writing songs of good times, bad times, struggles and triumph's, irish history and Pub crawls, the two instantly became fired up with the ease in which the songs were coming. They then decided to recruit members to form a full group. Bringing in childhood friend Jason "Saddy" Combs on bass, and old friend Brad Park on drums, the four began to jam. Shortly thereafter they recruited yet another old time friend, one Greg McLarty, to play the electric guitar for what today has brought the 5 of them to date to be...THE BOLLOX.

36 cents and a Dream 03-21-09 : 36 Cents & a Dream is comprised of four talented musicians. Heli Lanz (Vocals/Guitar), Kagen Croswhite (Guitar), and David Libman (DRUMS), are formerly of Low Cut, whose debut performance opened for grammy award winner, Brian Whitman of Audio Adrenaline. They sold out their show at the Venue of Scottsdale to a crowd of 800 cheering fans and music lovers. Troy is the newest addition and is known for his work on a solo album for Scott Johnson (GIN BLOSSOMS).

Audra : Born under the gray skies of Chicago, brothers Bret and Bart Helm were exposed to music at an early age by their father, a Frank Sinatra connoisseur. Digging through his record collection, the Helm brothers listened to the talents of Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Starting off on organ when they were kids was just the beginning; it wasn’t until their teenage years when the Helms’ spark for music really began to burn. Influences like U2, The Smiths and the Cure gave them the inspiration to write songs of their own.

After a move to Mesa, Arizona, Bret and Bart put all of their energy into the guitar and bass in the tiny room they shared – the beginning of Audra. Through lots of hard work and determination, Audra moved out of the bedroom and onto the stages of several clubs across the Phoenix area.

In 2002, luck dropped one of the valley’s best drummers, J. DeWolfe, into Audra’s hands. A recent transplant from the rich musical scene in Lincoln/Omaha, J. filled in the vacancy on drums. Now a power trio, Audra’s sharp, intense stage presence and well-crafted songs never fail to mesmerize a crowd.

Violet Wild - Live in AZ 2008 : Due to an unfortunate gear malfunction these were the only salvageable photos. I took these during their sound check. I tried rushing out to get my back up gear but didn’t make it back in time for their show. I really enjoyed the short taste of the music and will certainly look em up for another chance to photograph and listen to their music.
